Lean Six Sigma in Handwashing Improves Healthcare Service

In the U.S., two million cases of patient deaths or serious illnesses are caused by infection acquired in the hospitals. Because of this, healthcare management embarked on a hand-hygiene compliance.

This effort aims to have 90% percentage in hand hygiene compliance. The system is incorporating Lean Six Sigma principles.
