Greatwide Logistics Services Rewarded Because of Six Sigma

Six Sigma at Greatwide LogisticsThe Dedicated Transport business unit of Greatwide Logistics Services was awarded by Wal-Mart as the Outbound Grocery Carrier of the Year for 2007. Greatwide was the first dedicated contract carrier to serve Wal-Mart with refrigerated transportation services when it entered the grocery business in 1993.

Greatwide attributes this success to Six Sigma. Ray Greer, the CEO, has this to say:

“For most companies, Six Sigma is an aspiration, but in this case our team that delivers for Wal-Mart every day is living the reality. We work very hard to customize our operations to meet the needs of our customers, and it’s an honor of the highest degree to be recognized by a supply chain innovator like Wal-Mart.”
